MLM Companies – What You Need To Know
Listen, I absolutely LOVE this industry, and it has given me a lifestyle I may not have been able to achieve in a “job”, but there are some legitimate concerns when it comes to the “hype”, and what a lot of MLM leaders teach their teams.
If you are searching for a specific MLM Company, you’ll find a list of some of the best ones on the right of this page, but my goal here is to share with you from my 10+ years of experience, so you know what to expect, and you can push through any of these challenges to succeed!
Whether you’re brand new just browsing the MLM Companies available, or you’re a seasoned networker, this should help you and your team long term.
The first problem I’ve seen over the years is that most MLM leaders teach their teams to make a list of friends & family, and then go contact them one on one, or hold a home party to introduce the products and business. While this may be good advice and a good place to start to enroll a few people, it is the main reason why 95% fail to make any significant money in their business.
I’m a perfect example of this. If that is the only advice I followed back in 2002, I would have never earned more than maybe $15 in my business.
The bottom line is, your warm market in most cases is NOT your target market. Yes, you should contact them, because you never know who may be “open” to the concept, but you also need to have a marketing strategy in place from day one to tap into the real target market to build a successful MLM business.

The second major issue is attrition. In other words, “people dropping out”.
Most people get involved with an MLM Company for one reason, they want to make some freaking money. Sure a small percentage fall in love with the product or service and will order for many years, but for the most part, after 6-12 months or less of not earning enough to cover that monthly auto-ship, they will cancel.
It doesn’t really matter how great you or others think the product is, if you’re asking someone to buy something they aren’t already buying, and they don’t earn enough to cover that expense, they’ll cut it from the budget pretty darn quick.
This is why most MLM Companies have a 50%+ drop out rate over a 6-12 month period, leaving YOU to build and rebuild that volume just to maintain your income.
Don’t worry though, I know this is sounding grim, but I do have the solution.
What I was taught from the very beginning was to reach out to my “target” market. In other words, generate leads myself. More specifically, you want to be generating network marketing leads.
That IS your target market for the most part, other network marketers.
You can take the top 10% of money earners in every MLM company out there, and most if not all of them took many YEARS to achieve that status. The reason is, it took that amount of time to build relationships and put together that rolidex of network marketers.
But today, with the power of the internet you can achieve this same outcome much quicker. I won’t BS you, if you’re brand new, there will be a learning curve. But geez, don’t get discouraged, just push through and succeed!
The REALLY cool thing is, it’s even easier today than it was when I started. The demand for a solution just continues to grow to help struggling networkers find success.
But my secret remains the same today, as it did back in late 2002 when I joined my first program. In my opinion, finding the right MLM Company means finding one that not only provides a simple compensation plan, but more importantly a product line that can stand on it’s own, even without compensation. The products are where the long term stable income is, period. And then, you must have a platform to market those products and the opportunity to the right people.
Having a fantastic comp plan and high quality products doesn’t mean a whole lot if you struggle to get people on them or into the business. The number of MLM Companies that have a great pay plan AND a product line for long term stable income are few and far between, and practically none of them have cutting edge training on how to get in front of your target market like the pros do.
